The Youth Modeling Society is a non-profit organization founded by students from various colleges and universities to promote awareness, activism, and fundraise for special events in the community. Since 2003, YMS has been well known for its fashion shows.
YMS has previously organized shows for different organizations, such as for Suffolk University's Vietnamese Student Association (VSA) and for the annual Tet New Year Event held at Boston's Bayside Expo Center. YMS put on a fashion show for both events. The Show put on during VSA's program received positive coments during the reception. YMS was awarded best fashion show at the Tet New Year Event.
The organization's establishment would not have been successful without the support of the young group of models in Boston. They share a vision to create a comfortable atmosphere for youths to freely express themselves through modeling in various environments. YMS's primary focus is working with youths between the ages of 14-28 on building a higher leel of self-esteem and self efficiency. Our goal is to help create stronger leaders within our communities for the future. YMS has helped improve and enhance many youths' lives, providing the opportunity for young leaders to build upon their expereiences and give back to the society of future leaders within our community.
